How
information sought under RTI is cunningly denied by PIO of Odisha State
Cooperative Bank to cover up mega corruption in the Bank

On 21.3.18 while responding UDA Q
No. 45 in Odisha Legislative assembly, Sri Surya Narayan Patro, Minister for
Cooperation said that the Government had
given order for inquiry into alleged
huge corruption and irregularities in Odisha State Cooperative Bank by a
committee headed by Auditor General-cum-additional secretary of the office of
Registrar, Cooperatives.
Keeping it in view, the following information
was sought under RTI dated 23.3.18 from the Department of Cooperation, Govt. of
Odisha , Secretariat, Bhubaneswar.
1. Copy of the decision taken by the Government
in respect of constitution of the inquiry Committee headed by Auditor
General and copy of the enquiry report submitted to Govt.
2. Copy of the
decision taken in respect of filling of defamation case in
the court of Civil Judge, Bhubaneswar
by Odisha State Cooperative Bank
against two persons for making false
allegation (?) of corruption and irregularities
in the Bank . It needs to be mentioned here that since last three years,
a number of complaints has been filed by a number of Social Activists seeking
an inquiry into corruption and
irregularities in the Bank. Two
vigilance case has also been filed against OSCB
seeking inquiry into it. But the vigilance
has not conducted any inquiry into it , as the
big people are involved in
it. This is a 500 crore scam in Odisha.
3. Copy of the inquiry report submitted
by a committee of two deputy
secretaries of Cooperation Department and Joint-Register of
Directorate of Cooperation into alleged
corruption in computerisation of
Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies.( PACS) in Odisha
4. On 30.6.17, the State Government in its
letter no. 10489 has appointed Deputy-Register
and Assistant- Register of of
Directorate of Cooperation to enquire
into number of allegations of corruption
in Odisha State Cooperative Bank.
Provide copy of the report submitted, if any to Government.

Application was forwarded to the PIO,
office of Registrar, Cooperatives
and PIO, office of Odisha State
Cooperative Bank on 17.4.18.
The PIO, office of Register, Cooperatives has not supplied any information. But
the PIO, OSCB has made useless and ridiculous response and with malafide intention has
denied the information to keep the information secret.
