Central Govt. has released Rs. 100  crore  for  establishment  of  new Medical  College  in Jajpur

Govt. of  India  has  released  in total  Rs. 717 crore  for  establishment  of medical  college  in different  districts  in Odisha  since 2014-15.   Information about share of Govt. of  Odisha  is  yet  to be ascertained.

In  the midst  of  high-profile  political propaganda  of BJD Leaders  mainly Pranab Prakash Das  taking credit  for establishment of  medical  college  in Jajpur  district, Srikant Pakal, RTI Activist  has  filed RTI Application to the Ministry  of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India  seeking  information about  details of  financial assistance  provided by GOI  for establishment  of medical  college  in Odisha .

 

On 17.2.2., the CPIO  has  provided  the  following  information.

 

1.  Under  the centrally  sponsored  schemes namely  establishment  of new medical college  attached with existing  district / referral hospitals ,  the  Govt. of  India  has  sanctioned  Rs. 100  crore  for  Jajpur  district ( Rs.50 crore  in 2019-20 and  Rs. 50 crore in 2020-21 )  for  establishment  of medical  college  in Jajpur district.

As  per  separate RTI  information obtained  from the  office of DRDA, Jajpur, Rs. 98  crore  has been drawn  from DMF  Fund (  not Govt. fund )  for  proposed medical  college  in Jajpur  district.

 

2.  In 2020-21, the Central Govt. has also  released  Rs. 50  crore  for  establishment  of Medical  college  in Kalahandi  district.

 

3.  Details of  fund released  for  establishment  of medical  college  in different  districts  from 2014-15  to 2018-19 is as follows.

69 corrupt officials are protected by Govt. of Odisha . No Sanction for prosecution accorded since 2015

 

 Sanction for Prosecution of 69 corrupt officers is pending with State Govt.

Lokayukta , Odisha issued notice  to Chief Secretary  to reply

 

Acting on a Complaint filed by RTI Activist Sri Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, Jatni, Khurda  On 27.1.21, Lokayukta, Odisha  has issued  notice  to the Chief Secretary, Odisha   for reply why  69 cases relating to corruption against different public servants are pending since 2015. The next date of hearing is fixed on 15.3.2021.Sri Prasant  has alleged that  the State Govt. has  intentionally protected  these  corrupt officials  and does not grant sanction.

 On 30.7.20., Sri Prasant Mohapatra  had filed RTI to the PIO, Dept. of GA & PG seeking  information about no. of  cases  for sanction for prosecution of  officers  pending with Govt. On 2.9.20, the PIO  provided the  following  information.
