AAHAAR yojana, a programme of deception is being
implemented in all 30 districts in name of addressing hunger of poor and needy
people coming to urban areas every day for various proposes by provisioning of
cooked hot meal at affordable cost at places of public congregation. The
ulterior motive behind this programme is to deceive the people by projecting
the State Govt. as champion of the poor and distress. But it is fact
that due to maladministration,
corruption and irregularities in various
development programme, the poor people
are seen deprived of their entitlement and suffer from hunger and malnutrition. If the Govt. is so serious about hunger of the
poor, then why lakhs of poor and under-privileged section of
people are in queue for months together to get a ration card under National
Food Security Act. Why the State Govt.
has precariously failed to provide ration card
to the deserving people eve after one year’s implementation of the said
Act. Why Lakhs of applications for
Ration Card are pending with BDO for disposal.
The State Govt. has no answer. The
State Govt. is trying hard to suppress mass discontentment od denial of Ration
Card through this lollypop i.e., cooked
meal @ Rs. 5/-.
RTI Application was submitted to the PIO, Dept.
of Housing and Urban Development, Govt.
of Odisha seeking the information about
details of AAHAAR Kendra
opened in the state, details of fund
sanctioned, name of the agencies providing financial support, fund sanctioned for development of infrastructure
etc. The PIO has not supplied any
information except list of AAHAAR Kendra and funding support of Rs.63,37,14,000.00 for infrastructure development. The
Corporate-controlled NGOs have been
given responsibility for management of AAHAAR Kendra.
