Kusum Tank is one of the largest water bodies in the district headquarter town of Jajpur district. It was developed, renovated with huge fund mobilized from various sources. The people of Jajpur are seen gossiping how much fund is really utilized and its source for development of  Kusum Tank. In this  context, RTI  was  filed  to the PIO, office  of Jajpur Municipality  seeking  details of  information about  fund  mobilized  and spent  for Kusum Tank.  The PIO, office of the Executive Office of Jajpur Municipality has provided the  following information on 9.11.20.      This information is  put  in public  domain  for  wider  circulation among the  people of the  state.

65% of  total fund  for management of COVID Hospital, Kendrapara spent for only  fooding of doctors, Paramedical staff and other staff , exposed  under RTI

To access information relating to COVID Hospital management   and expenses made for it is herculean task for RTI Activists in the state of Odisha. This information are neither proactively disclosed by the Govt. nor provided information under RTI within stipulated time period. In almost all RTI Application cases, the PIOs provided information after filling first and second appeal or complaints to the Information Commission.  The PIOs deliberately made long delay  in providing information about COVID management or denied  information on flimsy ground. Information about   Decision  taken at Govt. level to daily  declaration of  death , recovery of COVID patients or admission of patients in Hospital  is still mystery , Despite  several RTI Applications filed within six months, not  a single  information has been shared  by any Dept. .

 

Prakash Ch. Das, young energetic new RTI Apprentice ( M- 9937008937)  had  filed RTI Application dt. 7.8.20 to the PIO, office of Collector, Kendrapara seeking information about functioning of COVID-19 Hospital, details of Isolation centres and  quarantine centres in the Kendrapara district.  

 

After 3 months , on 5.11.20.,  the PIO, office  of  CDM &PHO, Kendrapara has  provided only total allocation of  fund  for COVID Hospital/ Isolation Centre  and   expenses made  under  different heads. These  are as follows.
