Rs. 1.33 Crores arrear outstanding against 225 Ex-MLAs, Ex-MPs and Ex-Ministers in Odisha for non-payment of quarter rents upto March 2015, exposed through RTI
On 19.3.15, RTI Application was submitted by Sachikant Pradhan,RTI Applicant to the PIO, Dept. of General Administration, Govt. of Odisha seeking information about details of quarter rent pending against Ex-MLAs, Ex-MPs and Ex-Ministers in Odisha up to March 2015. On 25.4.15, the PIO has provided the following information.
A. Total amount of Rs. 1,33, 63,489.00 is pending against Ex-MLAs, Ex-MPs and Ex-Ministers in Odisha for non-payment of quarter rents.
B. 225 Ex-MLAs, Ex-MPs and Ex-Ministers have not paid their quarter rents till yet. The pending is more than ten years.
C. Many Ex-MLAs, Ex-MPs and Ex-Ministers against whom quarter rent is pending have died in the meantime.
D. Major quarter rent pending against prominent Ex-MLAs, Ex-MPs and Ex-Ministers is as follows.
